Strawberry Watermelon - Wine Kit
Enjoy making and drinking Winexpert's Strawberry Watermelon Island Mist wine kit! Candied strawberry and watermelon aromas with the refreshing flavors of fresh cut strawberries and watermelon.
NOTE: Island mist kits have an average ABV of 6% and we often have customers ask how they can add little more alcohol and body to the wine. We have found the best way to "boost" your ABV is with 2-2.5 pounds of corn sugar and 1 liter of grape concentrate. Adding only corn sugar will increase the alcohol, however may leave a "hot" taste in the wine. Corn sugar combined with grape concentrate increases alcohol while still maintaining the wine's body and flavor.
How to: This method will increase the ABV of an Island Mist wine kit to approx 11%. Add and mix in both 2-2.5 pounds corn sugar and 1 liter of grape concentrate during Step 1 after adding the main juice pack and before topping up to the 6 gallon mark with water and adding yeast.
- Red Concentrate should be used to boost Red wines.
- White Concentrate should be used to boost White wines
- Rose wines can use either, however Red concentrate will deepen the color.
