Adding Oak flavor to your creations is possible without the hassle of a barrel! Medium toast Hungarian oak cubes are sanitized by nitrogen purge and ready to use. Hungarian Oak enhances full-bodied varieties such as Malbec and Petite Verdot. Use in wines that will be strong enough to hold up to the rich nutty flavors the Hungarian wood will impart on finished wine. The medium toast of the oak can display a high perceived vanillin with roast coffee, bittersweet chocolate and black pepper character.
Add 3 oz of cubes per 5-6 gallons post fermentation. After 20 days of aging sample your beverage. If a more intense flavor is desired allow an additional 10 days of aging.
Store any leftover cubes in an airtight container for future use. If stored cubes dry out, re-sanitize by soaking in a similar wine or spirit at a ratio of 1 oz of chips to 1 oz of spirits for 48 hours.
